In December 2018, Maybern submitted planning and listed building consent applications for the erection of a permanent memorial commemorating the Peterloo Massacre of 1819, marking the 200th anniversary of the historic event.

The proposed memorial is located at the corner of Windmill Street and Lower Mosley Street, adjacent to the Manchester Central Convention Complex.

The design was developed collaboratively by Turner Prize–winning artist Jeremy Deller, working alongside Manchester City Council and the Peterloo Memorial Campaign group.
