Katie

Director

MLPM (Hons), MRTPI

Katie graduated from the University of Manchester in 2009 with a Masters degree in Landscape Planning and Management, and later became a chartered Town Planner. She founded Maybern in 2017 after having established a client base in her earlier roles in private consultancy. Katie can assist with devising a strategy for your development proposal, ensuring that the planning process is navigated as efficiently as possible.

Likes – days out with the kids, walking - trying to tick the Wainwrights off now and then!
Sarah

Associate Director

MLPM (Hons), MRTPI

Sarah has significant experience in dealing with a range of planning matters across the North West, including in commercial, residential, and recreation/ leisure sectors.

Sarah can assist with development management matters including the initial assessment of development sites/ preparation of planning appraisals, requests for pre-application advice, co-ordinating/ preparing planning applications and appeals, the promotion of sites through the local plan process, as well as liaising with and negotiating with planning authorities at all stages of the planning process.

Likes – playing tennis, watching rugby league, rambling and the outdoors!
Jack

Graduate Planner

MSc

Jack joined us in 2024 as our new Graduate Planner. He has a strong academic background, graduating from the University of Manchester with an MSc in Planning. He actively works as a valuable member of the team, advising and assisting across all sectors. Jack is excited at the prospect of progressing his career at Maybern, with fundamental goals such as completing his APC.’

Likes – avid Manchester United supporter and gym goer.
Matthew

Associate Director

BA(Hons), MPlan, MRTPI

Matthew started his career as a planning consultant in 2006 and subsequently worked client-side at a strategic land company and housebuilder.

Since joining Maybern in 2025, Matthew has worked on various projects, promoting land through the local plan process and securing permissions by application or appeal.
